I just placed an order for the Benro MeFoto Travel Tripod Kit. It is a more than three times the price of my favorite budget tripod, the Dolica Proline – but the Benro packs down to a much smaller size(18.5″). I will be traveling next week and will have a full review shortly after I return. If I wasn’t really looking for a small travel tripod I’d consider the newish vanguard line – they have some very well made tripods and are currently running a mail-in-rebate offer that makes the price even more attractive. They have a line of camera bags too – I have only done a review of their sling style backpack, and although that type of style doesn’t work for me it was very well made and the attention to detail was fantastic for the price. Shop Vanguard at Amazon.
Switching gears, from below the camera to on top of the camera – I have in my hands my review unit of the 320EX flash. If there is one quick and easy way to improve your photos – indoor and out it is with an external flash. Currently selling for a smidge over $200 this flash offers a rotating head, wireless flash, camera remote and a small LED light for focusing or video work. I will be back soon with a full review and how to working with external flash on a DSLR. Are there any questions you have or would like to see answered in this review? Feel free to leave them below.
