Google Photos was announced today- a NEW, standalone version that is being separated from Google+.

Along with the split come several changes –

  • Free unlimited photo and video storage, as long as those photos are under 16MP and videos 1080p or smaller. You can store larger, they will just count toward your storage limits.
  • New organization system- a blend of automatic google smarts helping you stay organized and find what you want quickly

  • Easy share system – public, private and a mix along with sharing to popular apps like Twitter and WhatsApp.

The App will be available now for Android and iOS and your photos will be accessible via the web too.

 #bison #snowface ~ Captured with the #Sony #a7rII and Canon 100-400 and heavily cropped because I follow the #YellowstonePledge :)
In Yellowstone National Park the roads are paved with snow and go straight for miles. Yesterday was sweet, today was the sweetest! Captured here on our way to Hayden Valley - a #dreamyplace like no other. #YellowstonePledge ~ Captured with the #Sony #A7RII and Canon 24-105 lens
Yesterday ended as epically as it began (see my earlier post?) 1. Hm, this probably goes without asking. But what about the story feature?
It’s baked in here or still at G+?
I ask in fear, because I love that feature and I would be sad if they removed/stopped supporting it.

  2. Hi Toby,

Do you trust this company enough for this? Do you have any second thoughts about providing them with dozens, hundreds or even thousands of pictures…?
