Wish Lightroom was a bit faster? As a bonus to Patreon support members we’ve got a new guide for performance tips to get you going. As a bit of a sneak peek, most people don’t realize Lightroom can be sped up with just a few clicks.
By running Optimize Catalog in Lightroom (File > Optimize Catalog) the program takes the time to go through the catalog and do a bit of clean up. Small catalogs won’t see much of an improvement, but larger ones with thousands of files will start to see decent gains for the couple minutes it takes to run an optimization. Just like defragmentation on a hard drive, this gives Lightroom the chance to clean house and get back to a proper working order.
