I appreciate that Canon is continuing to produce mirrorless cameras but this doesn't seem competitive against the older Sony a6000 that offers faster focus (how do I know? The Hybrid CMOS AF II system is in older cameras that I have used and reviewed. It isn't bad but it certainly isn't as fast as the Sony a6000 or other mirrorless options from Olympus, Panasonic etc. I also suspect that this is not a new sensor, rather the sensor that was in the Rebels from last year and again, that sensor isn't bad but it is not competitive with other options on the market. So what does this camera have going for it? Good question - The Canon name which still means something to some people and it does look quite small but beyond that - not much. Are you excited? If you could have 1 minute with Canon's CEO - what would you tell him?
