This Week’s Challenge: #PRTV_complementarycolors

This week was a bit more challenging in that you had to follow a color scheme. Using complementary colors in your photos can make for a strong image. We had some great photos this week, and some that didn’t quite get the colors right, but it’s great to see all the nice attempts at focusing on color. Toby’s Features:

Orange and blue - love the abstract but bright details in the soap bubbles.

Complementary Colors - - - I kid you not, this is what happens when you mix dish soap with water and a few drops of glycerin and stretch it over a wire loop. Every time I dipped the wire into the solution, the color pattern was predominantly blue on the bottom and orange on the top, sprinkled with a bit of the rest of the rainbow in between. The patterns that the solution made were different every time, kind of like a fingerprint. Using some gels for a self-portrait really works well for this challenge. 

A new selfportrait from a test shoot using my new toy (d750) 😁 I'm still figuring out the right balance for the face detection function and the aperture setting. Sometimes it seems to grab focus on the nose and at F2.8 the eyes are not completely on focus, but after my exams I will keep practicing until find the sweet spot!
