Sony RX 100 Mark VI Alternatives

Sony RX 100 VA - This is the previous model with a few updates. Sony did this to give you the choice, do you need a big zoom? Get the new VI or do you need less zoom and better low light? Get the VA which offers a 24-70 f/1.8-2.8 lens.Sony RX 100 IV - Honestly these little cameras haven't changed much in the last few versions, until they added the massive range to the latest, mark 6 - so if you just want a good P&S the IV and even the III is still a decent camera and saves you significantly.Panasonic Lumix DC-ZS200 -  1-inch High Sensitivity MOS sensor and a 15x optical zoom lens for 20.1MP photos. Complementing the sensor is a Venus Engine image processor capable of UHD 4K video recording at up to 30 fps and with an extended ISO of 25600 for use in low-light situations.Canon PowerShot G7 X Mark II Digital Camera - You give up 4K and some range vs the Sony RX100 6 but you get that excellent Canon user interface and ease of use along with saving several hundred.

Sony announces the new RX10m4

The RX10 line is Sony's point and shoot series with a HUGE zoom range. The New RX10mIV adds speed - faster AF, with a better spread and up to 24 frames per second bursts. There is no other camera this size that offers this sensor size and this focal range.I have been impressed by Sony's super zoom offerings - they use their excellent 1" sensor that is in the much loved and more pocketable RX100 series. And while I am usually not a fan of do it all lenses or cameras, the RX10 series offers some of the best quality in a super zoom P&S on the market.  Below you will find a few more specs and slides from this morning's presentation.

Nikon Announcement

 You might have noticed the lens and camera announcements have been fast and furious over the last week as we lead up to CP+ - A big international photo show held in Japan. First we had the Canon 80D, then the new Tamron prime lenses, Sigma's new lenses (cameras too) and the Sigma to FE mount adapter, Panasonics new 12-60 lens and now SIX new cameras from Nikon.  Three are boring Coolpix P&S cameras but the three pictured above is a new line from Nikon - the DL Series. These are all use a 20.8MP CX-format sensor - that's a 1 inch sensor similar to the Sony RX 100 line - clearly a competitor Nikon has set their sights on.  Additionally and like the Sony each of these cameras is capable of shooting 4K video.  Wifi/NFC, 120fps at 1080p round out the main features.  The also all share flip up (or flip out0 touchscreens.   The differences? Focal range/zoom really with a few additional features to support each range. Nikon DL18-50 f/1.8-2.8 Digital Camera Pre Order from B&H Photo - Available June, 28 2016 for $846Highlight Feature: Perspective Control - accurately depict architectural subjects and correct converging lines.My own notes - This may be the new perfect vlogging camera - starting at that wide 18mm is great for hand holding and talking to the camera.  I don't know of anything else that starts as wide with this sized sensor in a compact body.

Additionally Nikon will be offering an electronic Viewfinder - Compatible with the 18-50 and 24-80 the DF-E1 Electronic Viewfinder, which serves as a convenient alternative to the rear screen when working in bright lighting conditions- No info on price or availability yet. Do you think any of these cameras has a chance of dethroning Sony's RX 100 or RX10 series?  let me know in the comments.
